Jadeveon Clowney Drafted #1 Overall, 11 EXOS-Supported Players Taken in First Round of 2014 NFL Draft
Today, EXOS continued a strong tradition of training the #1 overall NFL Draft pick with the selection of Jadeveon Clowney (DE, South Carolina) by the Houston Texans in the 2014 NFL Draft. The #2 overall pick, Greg Robinson (OL, Auburn) selected by the St. Louis Rams, and the #3 overall pick, Blake Bortles (QB, Central Florida) selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars, were also supported by EXOS during their preparation for the Combine and their Pro Days.
Clowney was one of 11 EXOS-supported athletes selected in the first round, bringing EXOS’ total supported first round NFL Draft picks to 105.
“There were a lot of different tools at EXOS than what I had in college,” said Clowney. “I couldn’t wait to train each day as all the workouts really helped me.”
Clowney marks the seventh #1 overall NFL Draft pick to train for the NFL Combine and Pro Day at EXOS, joining previous draftees Andrew Luck (QB, Indianapolis Colts, 2012), Sam Bradford (QB, St. Louis Rams, 2010), Matthew Stafford (QB, Detroit Lions, 2009), Jake Long (OT, Miami Dolphins, 2008), JaMarcus Russell (QB, Oakland Raiders, 2007), and Mario Williams (DE, Houston Texans, 2006).
“Our team was extremely excited to help support many of the top prospects for this year’s NFL Draft, and one of the best athletes we’ve ever worked with was Jadeveon Clownney,” said Adam Farrand, EXOS’ NFL Combine program manager. “Despite all of the pressure and media scrutiny, Clowney was extremely focused and followed every step of our customized training and support system as he shocked the world at the Combine with his speed and size. EXOS is honored to have supported Jadeveon, 11 athletes selected in the first round, and all of our draft-eligible clients.”
Leading up to the NFL Draft, EXOS athletes dominated at the 2014 Scouting Combine, with many solidifying or greatly improving their stock in the 2014 NFL Draft. EXOS is on pace to further an unrivaled history of draft picks, which now includes seven #1 overall picks, 105 first round selections, and 470 total drafted athletes.
