FieldhouseUSA Partners with Athletes' Performance
Frisco, TX – FieldhouseUSA, Frisco’s indoor sports center, announced today that Athletes’ Performance will open its newest elite athletic training facility at FieldhouseUSA. Anticipated opening day is December 1, 2009.
Athletes’ Performance (AP) is the recognized leader in the training of elite athletes. Currently, AP has world-renowned facilities in Tempe, AZ, Los Angeles, CA, and Gulf Breeze, FL, and its partnership with FieldhouseUSA will bring a phenomenal training facility to the north Texas region, which is home to a significant number of elite and professional athletes, as well as top high school and college sports programs. AP has trained the last four #1 draft picks in the NFL Draft, eight of this year’s Major League Baseball All-Stars, numerous elite soccer and baseball teams around the world, and champion athletes in golf and tennis.
AP Combine Training program alumni include University of Texas standouts Brian Orakpo, Michael Huff, Michael Griffin, Aaron Ross, and Roy Williams. AP also trained local NFL standouts, including Jason Witten, Mario Williams, Steve Slaton, Tashard Choice, Kyle Kosier, and Leonard Davis.
AP’s facility at FieldhouseUSA will encompass 10,000 square feet and will feature a 7,000 square-foot training floor with state-of-the-art equipment, an Energy System Development (cardiovascular training) section, a nutrition bar, nutrition consultation area, full-service physical therapy, massage and soft tissue work, an acceleration track, indoor turf training area, education classrooms, and an evaluation and testing area, all designed specifically to deliver integrated world-class training to athletes.
In addition to its core elite and professional athletic training programs, AP will host camps and clinics at FieldhouseUSA for the area’s youth athletes. These programs will include College and High School Prep programs, which utilize the same methodology used to train elite athletes to help young athletes develop proper training technique, improving performance while reducing the risk of injury. In addition, AP will host education and mentorship opportunities for coaches, trainers, and physical therapists.
“We are excited about our partnership with Athletes’ Performance. AP is, by far, the leader in training elite and professional athletes throughout the world, and it is our privilege to partner with them in bringing their sports, fitness and wellness training expertise to Frisco and North Texas,” commented, Gary Oliver, Principal and Director of Operations for FieldhouseUSA. Mr. Oliver continued, “When we began working with the City of Frisco to bring a one-of-a-kind, state-of-the-art, indoor sports facility to Frisco, it was our vision to team with experts such as Athletes’ Performance so that local residents could have access to extraordinary training programs. Our team will continue to bring these types of programs to FieldhouseUSA and SportsVillageUSA.”
“We are honored Athletes’ Performance selected Frisco, and specifically FieldhouseUSA, as the perfect place to grow its training operations,” said Mayor Maher Maso, City of Frisco. “The addition of AP brings even more synergy to an area of our city that promises to become a premiere destination for all athletes—professional or aspiring, adult or youth—from around the nation and the world. We thank our citizens for supporting and trusting our vision and welcome AP to the Frisco family.”
Of the new facility, Athletes’ Performance Founder and President, Mark Verstegen, said, “Athletes’ Performance is very excited to open a new AP facility at FieldhouseUSA. We believe that Frisco’s central location and proximity to elite athletes and teams will provide us a unique opportunity to expand upon our world-class training operation. In addition, everyone knows how outstanding high school and college sports are in Texas, and we look forward to bringing our proven methodology to High School and College Prep programs throughout the greater Frisco area.”
In Frisco Texas, one coach recognized a dynamic, growing town that needed fresh places to play. He imagined a place where every child had the chance to join a team; a place where other coaches could give of their talents; a place that parents could trust and could enjoy on their own terms; and a place where organizations could host events and build their own corporate teams.
Drawing on a unique public/private partnership with the City of Frisco, the 145,000 square-foot, state-of-the-art FieldhouseUSA Frisco Indoor Sports Center, located in Frisco, Texas, is open and drawing excited families to it on a daily basis. Featuring 12 full size basketball courts convertible to 12 volleyball courts, with a full-size indoor soccer arena, FieldhouseUSA is the first of its kind in the region.
